§ 2-33. Forms of action by board.

Latest version.
  • There are three forms for expressing the will of the board: ordinances, resolutions and motions, and each shall be confined to its appropriate use as indicated in this section.

    (1)

Ordinances and resolutions. Ordinances and resolutions are enactments of the board for the government of the village, enforceable as often as their provisions are applicable.

    (2)

Motions. Motions exhaust their force by being once fully enforced. This section shall not apply in matters as to which state law limits the board's action to one form.
