§ 42-2. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Historic district means an area listed as such on either the National Register of Historic Places in Wisconsin or the state register of historic places.

    Historic site means any parcel listed as such on either the National Register of Historic Places in Wisconsin or the state register of historic places.

    Historic structure means any improvement listed as such on either the National Register of Historic Places in Wisconsin or the state register of historic places.

    Improvement means any building, structure, place, work of art or other object constituting a physical betterment of real property, or any part of such betterment, including streets, alleys, sidewalks, curbs, lighting fixtures, signs and the like.
