The M-1 limited manufacturing and wholesale business district is intended to provide
for manufacturing or fabrication operations which, on the basis of physical and operational
characteristics, would not be detrimental to the immediate surrounding area or to
the village as a whole by reason of smoke, odor, noise, dust, flash, traffic, physical
appearance or other similar factors; and to establish such regulatory controls as
will reasonably ensure compatibility with the surrounding area in this respect. Also,
the M-1 district is intended to provide for the orderly and attractive grouping, at
appropriate locations, of wholesale business establishments. All industrial uses in
this M-1 district must meet the state industrial standards.
