§ 18-51. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Swimming pool means any container or depression in the ground, whether temporary or permanent in nature, capable of containing water to a depth at any point greater than 12 inches. This definition, however, shall not be construed to include depressions in the ground created or existing solely for the purpose of managing storm or surface waters.

    Temporary swimming pool means any swimming pool meeting the definition of a swimming pool in the previous definition, but limited in area to less than 150 square feet and depth at any point to less than two feet.
