§ 46-922. Loading requirements.

  • On every lot, except in the B-3 district, on which a business, trade or industrial use is established after the effective date of the ordinance from which this chapter is derived, space with access to a public street or alley shall be provided as indicated in the following for the loading and unloading of vehicles off the public right-of-way:

    (1)

    Bus and truck terminals: Sufficient space to accommodate the maximum number of buses or trucks to be stored or to be loaded or unloaded at the terminal at any one time.

    (2)

    Minimum dimensions: At least ten feet wide by 25 feet long with a minimum height clearance of 14 feet for loading/unloading spaces shall be provided for business uses, and at least ten feet wide by 50 feet long with a minimum height clearance of 14 feet for such spaces shall be provided for wholesale and industrial uses.

    (3)

    Number of spaces: The following are the minimum number of loading/unloading spaces required for business, wholesale, and industrial uses:

    175,000—249,999 5

     

    For each additional 75,000 square feet (or fraction thereof) of gross floor area, one additional loading/unloading space shall be provided.
